And while we're about it……

One of the better arguments against women's ordination:

I suppose this is a sort of 'hedging your bets' stole; just in case the Moslems or Bahai's are right after all, we'd better include them in.

A co-ordinated chasuble, shoes, earrings set which will equally well do for the attempted Eucharist and for the posh do afterwards.

And one to make the fuller figure look positively mountainous.

An 'ordained interfaith minister' (woman, of course) who conducted the marriage of some dear (misguided) friends of mine over the summer wore one such stole.

I didn't want to spoil the day by taking issue with her about it at the reception. Besides which, there were excellent pork sausages and Harvey's Sussex Best Bitter to consume. I suppose I COULD have eaten my sausages, whilst drinking beer and berating her, but it would probably have given me dyspepsia.

Dear Fr Justin I wonder if you could kindly include my blog on your links before we meet. I am known as Fr.Mildew and Fr Mildews blog will find me as a link say on Fr. Tim's blog. I am rather a begginer and still trying to master the noble blogging art better.

Of course, dear Fr Michael; I assume you will naturally return the compliment……

I must say this post made my day.

It is wonderful that on a posting showing such a grotesque and hideous example of the "fairer sex", displaying "persons" who I am sure would behave as smugly and rudely as they appear, the comments posted should, in stark contrast, display a courteous and gentlemanly exchange between men. Thank you Fathers for showing the Church in such a good and true light. Let us pray that the illustrated "persons" will one day come to full understanding within Her bosom.

Having been, I hope, courteous myself, may I beg a small favour in exchange, namely a new posting, so that when we open your page we are not confronted with such a disturbing picture? It is beginning to upset me!

Horrible! I guess they're from that Interfaith Seminary?

I'm not a misogynist - but priests definitely look better without the breasts!

Oh my word!

I think an ample bosom rules out fiddleback vestments. Phew!

I am an american and an educated women, but I must tell you boy Brits of the Holy Church, ordained or not, I deeply admire your wit.

It is unfortuante however, that so many males of the church RUN from women of education, seeing most as feminist.

May I remind you that it was women who took care of the cooking at the last supper and went to aniont the body of Jesus, and stood there as he was crucified.

Women do have a place in Church or perhaps a better way to say it, women are temples of life, before they even participate in Church.

Respect is due them, and they will so willingly clean, witness and care for the universal Church.

Humility is part of our calling as women, but do not deride us, or see us as inconsequential to the sacramental life of the Church.
